Create Your Own Cross Stitch

Let me convert any of your photos into your very own personalised cross stitch design!

*Please note: I create counted cross stitch designs only. The final pattern is supplied as a digital PDF file, and is not printed onto fabric.

How to order:

Step 1: Email me the file you would like converted to admin@sewitall.com.au, and include:

  • the number of cotton colours (10-450) you would like to use
  • preferred size (e.g. A4 size)
  • preferred fabric count (e.g. I recommend 18ct, as it allows for the most detail)
  • whether you would like the background removed
  • whether you require all supplies (fabric, needle, cotton) or the chart only

Note: if no preferences are stated, I will create the mockups on 18ct fabric, with approx 30-50 colours, and approximate A4 size.

Step 2: I will send you a computer-generated mockup for your approval. I usually create a couple of options with my recommendations, if I believe the design could be improved by changing colours/size, etc. Changes can be made at this point.

Step 3: Once approved, I will provide a quote and bank transfer details. If you prefer to pay via Paypal, I can organise a Paypal invoice.

Step 4: Once payment is received, your charts will be created and emailed to you as PDF files within three business days. Each digital pack will include thread key, size measurements, colour and black-and-white enlarged charts, and a full-page chart. If you have ordered supplies, let me know your address and I can post that within the three business days.

Cost:

$49 per chart

Optional:

Background removal - $5

Colour hardcopies - $2 per chart

Cotton - $1.10 per colour (full DMC cotton skein provided)

Fabric - starting from $18.90 for 45x50cm white aida

Needles - $3 (3 pack)

Postage - as per website

Important information

- Please send us the highest resolution photo you can, as this will allow as much detail as possible to be included in your chart.

- Keep in mind that cross stitch charts are pixelated, and you will naturally lose some detail when converting a photo into a cross stitch chart. You can keep your chart as detailed and true-to-photo as possible by:

  • Choosing a higher number of colours (we recommend a minimum of 30)
  • Choosing a larger design size
  • Choosing a smaller count fabric (e.g. designs stitched on 18 count fabric will have more detail than those stitched on 14 count).

Fun fact: the less colours your photograph has, the more cotton colours we usually need to use! That is because we need to use lots of shades to achieve definition. Cross stitch charts of pets and humans use a lot more colours than you might think.

- We are able to remove the background for an additional $5 charge.

- We are unable to make any customisations (except background removal) at this time.\
